pplater,
I could...nay...should...take the easy route and simply state that it's a visceral feeling. From a PuristS viewpoint, that may prove to be the ultimately correct answer; seeking perfection in an imperfect world, my perfection is my perception.
Or I could quite correctly observe that all parties (makers, owners, users, enthusiasts, aspirants) are still alive and active thus precluding any further public discussion, in the interest of gentlemanly conduct. It would be churlish and non-U to do otherwise.
Furthermore, it would be fundamentally wrong to whisper in private what one dares not to declare in public forum.....so no private mail either
Suffice to say that using all my 5 senses and the 6th one 'proffered' by the current Mrs MTF, the Simplicity was a watch that I declined when offered by it's maker and the Observatoire is a watch that I am not worthy of and dare not aspire to.......nor would I expect the maker to even broach the subject.
Now, it is unobtainable, except when offered on the secondary market. One does not purloin an Observatoire on the secondary market.....it is something that bonds the maker and the intended first owner.
Regards,
MTF
