Exceptional.

That is quite possibly the highest level of finishing, at least on the bevels, that I have ever seen.
Exceptional work here, I can say that the bar has indeed been raised in that area.

HOWEVER- one watch I will never forget, as long as I live, is one of Phillipe Dufour's Simplicity
wristwatches. I have not, and doubt I will ever see, anything as well finished as that. The level
of polish that Dufour put on the individual teeth alone is nearly beyond my conception as a human
being- what Gautheir did with those incredible bevels, Dufour did on ever single tooth of those
watches, on ever gear. A perfect mirror polish. This doesn't quite go that far. Dufour's wheels
boggle the mind.

Still, it's a definite challenger behind Mr. Dufour- an incredible achievement in it's own right.
Stunning watch here indeed. My hat's off to Mr. Gauthier.

ASTOUNDING GAUTHIER FINISH A NEW STANDARD ?

 By: NJ : February 24th, 2009-11:03
We're all familiar with the exquisite level of movement finish Philippe Dufour is justifiably famous for but have a look at these images and tell me the bar has not been raised....

Sure, the guy who works for Romain Gauthier does a great job.

I love the finishings of these watches but the most impressive point, IMHO, is the layout of the caliber. Fr.Xavier...

Exceptional.

Agree, Xavier!

This is major watch porn for me! I better close my browser now cause my wife is around the corner...don't want her to catch me looking at some porn! Cheers, Anthony

Porn? Odd comment.

Nothing less than PD's and KV's works.

It is so easy to neglect great work by low profile watchmaker. Regards Ling

Perhaps...

the best example of that are the incomparable works of Mr. George Daniels who oddly receives very limited mention on this or any other forum.

Too rare

it's dangerous to say anything too definitive based on photos alone

But it looks like a very sweet piece of work.

Fantastic!

Gratuitous balance shot Explicit close up shot of the "click" (hmmm... does that rhyme too close to something else?) For those of you who like curves Is this the "money shot"? Couldn't help myself after the reference to watch p0rn. These are photos when I...

Such nice details! In your opinion, Gaz, how do you think Roman Gaultier compares with the other independents in terms of finishing?

Late to the party...

 By: pplater : March 6th, 2009-16:37
...but here to tell you Gaz (as if you need telling...) that those are sensational pics of your lovely watch. You did well to pick the emerging master early. With such prescient skills do you have any tips for a good vin ordinaire from the '09 vintage??? ...

Short answer...
