Pebble Beach Monterey Car Week Photos

Aug 20, 2023,07:52 AM

It's been a pleasure to meet so many WatchProSite members from all over the country (and a couple from different countries).  Thank you so much for taking the time to meet!

Some of us attended a special Bentley Motor Cars X The Macallan Scotch Whisky event - what an event.  Some of our members went straight for the good stuff - the Macallan 18 Sherry Oak.

For those of you who were in town but not able to rendezvous (because you had other cool parties to attend) we will have to catch each other next time.

For those whom were able to meet me, THANK YOU for taking the time to meet!

And for those whom weren't in the Monterey area at all, I've got some eye-candy for you!

The new Lamborghini Electric Car - uhhh... I like Lamborghini - but I can’t imagine wanting a Lamborghini electric car. A Rolls-Royce electric car makes sense. But how do you get a Lamborghini electric car to be super emotional? Hmm... I shouldn't be critical until I try it - but so far it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Oh hey!  A Porsche!  This one is a special modified version with carbon fiber panels.

Lotus for Cazalea!

Another Lotus!

A member’s lovely car! Exquisite! I always liked the 575M! Hope to go for a ride in one someday!

Another car parked nearby that caught my eye - a practical Lamborghini! I’m a big fan of the Lamborghini Huracan and the Aventador - they're so emotional and so fun to drive. And to anyone who thinks they're an Audi in disguise, I have to say, Lamborghini did such a good job - it's so much more emotional than an Audi R8 - that I feel it's a true Lamborghini! J'adore ce machina! This one is a special edition version! Do any members have Lamborghinis?

WatchProSite used to be known as PuristSPro and our members used to be known as ”The PuristS" so this license plate is just amazing! Good job!

A Lamborghini Diablo. I’ve never driven one of these. But being a huge fan of the Lamborghini Aventador and Huracan models (did I mention they're actually reliable super sports cars), I've become a big of a Lamborghini fan since 2012! One of our former moderators, ThomasM is to blame!

Not a bad color! One could never feel blue while driving this emotional machine!

This is the new V12 variant from Lamborghini. Again, I haven’t driven this lovely machine - but I'd be hard pressed if they can improve upon the Aventador and the Huracan - both of which are so easy to drive! Especially the Huracan - I've never met a super car that was so easy to drive (rearward visibility is awful, but to drive at speed - it's wonderful! I encourage everyone to experience a Lamborghini - you have not lived until you've experienced one!

A Lamborghini Miura. A lot of people on WPS like this car. So I had to include it. This one is in a cool color that I’ve never seen before.

Another Lamborghini Diablo. I know there are a lot of Lamborghinis! I also really like the cars from Rolls-Royce Motor Cars (The Wraith is my favorite and I hope to try the SPECTRE). Apologies no Rolls-Royce photos. No Porsche photos neither - Not enough special Porsches! No Speedster! The GT3s were moving, so the one photo I took was blurry. No Carrera GT nor 959 neither. Not a big Porsche year. Didn’t even see a GT3 Touring. Where did all the Porsches go???

Thank you for viewing.  As you can tell, Lamborghini Huracan vehicles are on my mind!  They are wonderful!  I haven't driven the new Corvette neither.  I hear those Z06 Corvettes are monsters. And even the standard Corvette C8 Stingray are supposedly excellent!  Double wishbone, 500 hp, and a true dry sump lubrication system.  The Corvette C8 Z06 version comes with an even more powerful engine with around 670 horsepower!

Any favorites?  Any special cars on the mind of our WatchProSite members?

I didn't take a lot of photos! There were some SINGER Porsches. Totally didn't take a single picture of any Mercedes vehicles - although I should've taken a picture of one of the Maybach vehicles - it was in an interesting color combination. Too many kids...

Thank you!

The highlight was meeting some interesting individuals! Lots of fun was had at the Bentley X The Macallan event.

I used to be a Ferrari fan!

I used to buy into the hype, Ferraris, Ferraris, pedigree, racing history, Lamborghinis don't win races and the company doesn't really sponsor a race team (until recently). But after driving the Aventador and the Huracan I was just so impressed, the cars ...

You're close by you know...

Just a short drive away!

Which one is your favorite Aquaracer1?

 By: patrick_y : August 20th, 2023-14:57
Something tells me you're a fan of pre-war cars like Rolls-Royce Phantom IIs and Mercedes-Benz SS 540K models. And post war sports cars...

Of this bunch

Has to be the yellow Lambo for me please 🙂

Ahh! I was way off!

Yeah, that car looked good! Supposedly it's ELECTRIFIED! A V12 engine with an electric motor in the flywheel between the engine and the transmission! Personally, I'd prefer an all V12 engine car. But I'm told it drives really well and that you don't reali...

Aha!

Like you, my preference is for 100% ICE. Some of my buddies own Tesla and Rivian, and are all about it. But I just can’t get behind all electric yet. I will likely be a slow convert, hey maybe in 10 years or so, but I doubt it 😂

I own a Tesla! It's not terrible! Not perfect, but livable.

 By: patrick_y : August 20th, 2023-19:58
I own a Tesla and while the brakes are terrible, and the gas pedal isn't hinged on the floor, and the glass isn't hydrophobic, and there's a lot of road/tire noise on certain pavements. There are a few other small problems too. But overall, despite all of...

575M for the win!

...and as an aside, as a golfer it is really weird to see a bunch of cars (however beautiful) lined up on the fairways of the most famous golf course in the world : )

I know, what a perfect way to ruin a golf course!

All those tires leave divots and impressions. Better not be on any putting greens.

+1

Patrick, did you miss the piece de resistance? 😉

I did miss that one!

Wow. Just wow. These days... The brands are being very difficult to work with. The brands have a "public face" where the brand exhibits at a hotel. This year Rolls Royce exhibited at a hotel in Carmel Valley and a "private face" where the exhibition is do...

Wow quite spectacular!

Ahh! It's a very expensive watch that comes in a big watch box!

The car being the watch box!

LOL!!!

Excellent Coverage!

 By: David Allen : August 21st, 2023-21:17
Thank you for that and I hope you had a memorable time.

Oh, this is really mediocre coverage!

 By: patrick_y : August 22nd, 2023-00:56
But thank you for saying so! I used to have more organized coverage and car reviews with each brand. But partially due to the pandemic, the loss of PR connections over the years due to the pandemic, the new way that Pebble Beach car week has become organi...

So happy to read you here!
