The most technically accomplished mechanical movement ever installed . . .

. . . in a wrist watch. I would've acquired one if it were manageably sized. Unfortunately the 5011K movement is too large to accommodate a reasonably sized case. 🤙🏻

Slight tangent but I would like to see them continue to dabble with their cal. 135

After the recent limited pieces, a fantastic package but inaccessible. Perhaps a steel version with a tamer dial, perhaps.

+1. Zenith issued a limited edition of ten . . .

. . . cased in platinum a few years ago with leftover movements from the '50s. One can only hope Zenith follows Omega's lead with their cal 321 in reviving their classic chronometer cal 135. Art

With Kari?

...

Exactly what I am referring to

Subtract the Kari, the platinum and maybe add a more clinical, scientific dial...

Agreed.

. . . and keep it reasonable, equivalent to Omega's Ed White . . .

. . . in the low five-figure range U$. Price it > $17K and I'm out. But within reach? I'm in like Flynn! Art

Ed White now lists for ~ $15K . . .

. . . so I would expect a new cal 135 to be around the same level.

The Speedy has been absolutely rinsed though

Zenith have some sleeping giants with their older calibres, untouched and hype free. Also positioning wise I feel their appeal would be limited to enthusiasts rather than the more mass market Omega offerings.

My sense is that Ed Whites are going to enthusiasts . . .

. . . rather than flippers. Getting one is an exercise in patience . . . mine took fifteen months, a friend is still waiting after 2+ years. What may not be common knowledge is the vetting process Omega boutique managers go thru to allocate Ed Whites. The...

Which is very good.
