By: Geo : September 17th, 2009-21:59
I am up a bit early today and have not decided yet, but I have been playing around with Photoshop this week so I thought that might be a nice shot for Friday Wristshot. Have a good weekend guys. GEO...

The serial number ...
By: AndrewD : September 18th, 2009-05:52
Hi Art, The serial number is circa 25.5 million, placing the watch around 1967-68. For some reason it was first sold in 1971. Don’t worry, I love your black dial Connie as well. I look forward to a side by side photo one day. Andrew
Always a pleasure, Andrew
By: amanico : September 18th, 2009-07:18
This Connie is magnificient! As new as if you just took it from the Boutique! HAGWE. Nicolas
a lovely piepan with great lugs Andrew.
By: G99 : September 19th, 2009-04:24
given omega's inefficiency with issuing in sequence the serial number and date sold probably coincide nicely. best Graham

By: pplater : September 17th, 2009-22:35
Great shot Geo; it's always a pleasure to see one of your well crafted photos of one of your lovely watches. As Andrew observes, your photo is reminiscent of the huge spacecraft hovering over the White House in a scene from the film "Independence Day". We...

By: AndrewD : September 17th, 2009-22:51
… to a nice watch. It has a similar aesthetic to the Benzinger and looks to wear larger on the wrist than I expected. Perhaps it’s the lugs, but it looks great. Your first regulator? Congratulations Andrew
Thank you Andrew...
By: pplater : September 18th, 2009-03:29
Yes, the first regulator - not having been a fan of the style in the past, it takes some getting used to. This, though, is a good place to start! You have done well to observe the impact that the lugs have on the 'feel' of the watch. Despite the tradition...

In fact, it is for all practical purposes identical to the Goldpfeil LE, but carries Frank Jutzi's own name/logo on the dial and rotor. With great foresight it was commissioned in that fashion by the previous custodian. Cheers, pplater.

By: AndrewD : September 19th, 2009-04:06
Very nice Seamaster, Tom, with a history that makes it special. Interesting arabic numerals that make the watch look mutch younger than its 50 odd years. You should share some more shots on the Omega Forum one day. Thanks again, Andrew

By: tee530 : September 19th, 2009-19:18
Thanks Andrew & Art, I appreciate it. I'd like to write up this model sometime for the Omega forum as it is not only special to me, but also has a less-commonly seen caliber, 570, of which around 40,000 were made. Not exactly rare, but few by Omega st...

The Sea was a motif in FL watch brands. A major new large cased six sided watch in the late 60s was the Sea Raider 36000 bph. FL had an existing Sea King model, also Harpoon. I think they just liked the "Raider" tag for large watches and introduced an ala...
