Kudos on the choices. Peter, Dirk/Dieter and Stephan's watches are great. I agree that there is a lure to the independants that the major manufacuturers just can't match. That being a single dominant personality embued into every aspect of the watch. For ... 

Until I retired 5 years ago at age 52, I had been a entrepenurial my entire life, and obviously been pretty successful so I to admire the courage and risk each of these watchmakers has made along with many others. In some way, I am sure I have a special p...

Well, I do know I would like an MIH and a custom guilloched RGM with the 801 Caliber. Roland Murphy's engine turning at RGM is a treasure to behold and the 801 caliber is the only manufacture caliber originated in the U.S.(I know this for I have visited R... 

Happy to endorse the idea of the MIH though - arguably the best bang for buck in the Independent world and a surprisingly versatile piece - Good luck in the hunting, Cheers, pplater....
