I am with the other two gentlemen

The GO is a very attractive watch with a high degree of versatility. It seems highly wearable both as a formal dress-watch and as a daily watch at the office. However, I consider the RL to be more grail-ish, first of all because of its movement which has its equals among time-only movements on this planet. Both by using the most sophisticated features available (free-sprung balance, Breguet overcoil etc.), by using the best materials and by a finish hardly available anywhere else. The face of the watch is classic, thus also timeless even with its Roman numerals. Its competitors are for me Journe's CS, Vacheron's Patrimonies, Dufour's Simplicity, and Voutilainen's ditto. But none of them sport a better movement.

A very light preference for the R.L

If the G.O didn't have the Date, I would have say the G.O Chronometer. But you can't go wrong with each of these. Best, Nicolas

Like the RL better

 By: donizetti : May 2nd, 2010-11:30
it has a nicer movement, much better finish, and more pleasing proportions, IMO. On the other hand, the Senator Chronometer has very interesting technical innovations and is a beautiful watch of course. Just remember it is quite chunky (42 mm and also qui...

That

Unless you are rfeally set on a dress only watch and/or a Lange in particular. I think that particular GO is a beautiful watch and offers a bit more.

How big are your wrists....

 By: aaronm : May 2nd, 2010-12:19
I prefer the GO, but my reccolection is that it is thicker and perhaps a bit larger. On a small wrist it may not look as good under a cuff as the RL A

GO for me...

Just by the looks alone. Goodluck on your choice. Drew

Either is great.....

 By: MiniCooper : May 2nd, 2010-12:28
but I would choose the Lange for its simplicity (you said dress watch)..... good luck & please let us know which one you end up with... cheers

The RL for me.

 By: foversta : May 2nd, 2010-12:45
Don't get me wrong: I was seduced by the GO at the 2009 Basel fair: innovative, with a nice caliber, this GO was one of the most interesting 2009 novelties. But... I consider that the RL is one of the most beautiful Lange. It is the only Lange with a big ...

Lange for events

 By: Nomer : May 2nd, 2010-12:45
If this is a watch you put on for a few hours while attending a special event, then the elegance and quality of the Lange are a winner. The GO is a great watch but it's inherent features are for more frequent wear where the various other functions are of ...

and have decided that I will eventually get them both - They are distinctly different - The RL is totally timeless and classic and the GO is all that combined with some very useful technology It is a tough decision - I would go RL first and later on get t...

 By: DRMW : May 2nd, 2010-17:27
Hello everyone, The problem with the internet is that words can be potentially misinterpreted and thus misunderstandings can happen thus leading to needless arguments. If we were all face to face and with context in perspective these things wouldn't occur...

we can only tell you which WE like best which doesnt answer your question. our opinions are always biased in our favour. that is why i never ask anyone which watch i should buy, i buy the one i like and i dont care if no one else likes it. ask too many pe...

Both are beautifully made and finished.

 By: CaliforniaJed : May 2nd, 2010-14:41
The RL is maybe slightly more refined, and I realize that is subjective. The "upstart" GO Senator Chronometer has two really usefull features, the zero reset and the minute-by-minute setting of the minute hand. The power reserve is nice to have as well. A...

I prefer the GO Chronometer

 By: mac : May 2nd, 2010-16:34
I prefer the GO by a wide margin. It's not because the Lange isn't exceptional, but because I dislike the way it sits on my wrist and the relative case proportions. Oddly enough, the slightly larger GO feels better on my wrist. In terms of aesthetics, I t...

I take "dress" as the operative word and given that

 By: ArthurSG : May 2nd, 2010-20:14
for ME, I woudl go with the RL between the 2 as for me, "dress" has to have a less complicated dial which the RL is of the 2. Just me though plus I have always thought the RL was a nice watch.

GO Senator Chronometer for me

 By: AnthonyTsai : May 2nd, 2010-20:16
The Richard Lange is not my cup of tea and the look of the watch, especially the hands, is just too boring and traditional for me Cheers, Anthony

I would go with the RL. (nt)

This, I think. It tells you all you need to know for without more (unless you need to know the date by means of your watch).

The Richard Lange

 By: jporos : May 3rd, 2010-10:11
As interesting the dial and complications of the GO, the RL does all of the basics in such a beautiful and classic way that it is more appealing overall in my book. I usually do not like Roman numerals on a watch, but I have never seen Roman numerals so e...

I agree with Anthony

 By: 1watch : May 3rd, 2010-22:20
IMHO, I see the RL as a bit boring for the money you would need over the GO to acquire it. Now if that is what you really want, then I say go for it. However, the GO has great craftsmanship. I am not an expert, but one of the reasons the Lange movements l...

Pricing

 By: db darien : May 4th, 2010-06:22
I think the pricing on these two pieces is roughly equivalent, at least in terms of the economics I'm facing (vis a vis trade-in of my existing G.O. versus buying either, each with a different AD).

Hi, DB

 By: AlexSunrise : May 5th, 2010-16:20
I hope I am not too late to the party. Unfortunately I've haven't had the chance to see the GO in person, but regardless of it's nice aesthetics, I believe the RL is just as good as it gets. The time that I was fortunate enough to hold one and try it on, ...

Tough choice

 By: Davo : May 6th, 2010-22:09
Both are just lovely but if I had to have one it'd be the GO for its more interesting dial.

Senator Chronometer

 By: Phinz : May 6th, 2010-23:19
The Senator Chronometer is my choice, but with full discloser - I took delivery of a GO Senator Chronometer two weeks ago and it has only left my wrist in the weekends so far.
