Land Sea & Air, Part 2

Again, you never know what you are going to see, if your eyes are open and you are not too distracted by a dog or a pulsimeter:

Old government buildings

Sunlight.

A cat, on the prowl.

A hummer, surrounded by gnats.

A pair of benches completely surrounded by bushes? What?

Well, apparently it's a surf report bench. I think this should be over at WindanSea beach, where we were the other day.

Planes overhead kept us glancing up at the sun, trying to break through the clouds.

Partially successful, as you can see the brightness at the base of these century plants.

Flowers angling for some sunlight, so they can open for the day.

Lychee fruiting

We have come to the main sidewalk, and it's nearly 8 am and the talkers / dog walkers are out in full force.

We even saw a 3-legged dog chasing after a squirrel. I decided to focus on the dog as I have plenty of squirrel shots.
We learned she is 11 and has been 3-legged for just a year. It did slow her down a bit, but only a little bit.

Ground squirrel shot (not the one she chased down a hole)

This bird was the same coloration as the leaves on the tree it was sitting upon.

We circled around and headed back towards the car. At the cove, 2 elderly fishermen were hardly working.

While in MCRD a large contingent of motorcycle officers were practicing or preparing to accompany a motorcade. I'll have to watch the news to find out what's going on today!

Some Kanakas have come out with their personal boats and are preparing for a paddle.

Since the watching seagulls are hard at work monitoring things, we feel confident in leaving.

We pass the Corvette diner, wondering if it's here because of the stingrays (just 100 feet or so away).

and we decide to head home for breakfast.  Oops, almost forgot today's wrist shot: the NOMOS no-fuss, no-muss watch.
