Need some comments and thoughts...please...
Jul 12 2008,21:31 PM

My fellow ThaiPaneristis and I have some discussion on the axel that attach to the crown of Panerai case.

Well, when we took our watches together and pulled out the crown, we noticed some differences among the axels in each watch. Here are the pics of what we have noticed...

the axel of the 2A...

the axel of the 9A...

22B-T...

and finally the 9B-L...

Both axels under 2A and 9A's crown look similar to each other, but the axels in 22B-T and 9B(L) are different as you can see that they are in thick shape.

My questions arise:

   - Is the axel a part of the case or the part of the movement?

   - Is this all in normal practice?

   - One of my friend's 2A has the 22B-T's axel type....does this mean the case of his 2A had been changed?

Please kindly share your thoughts as I do believe it will be very helpful and educate to our member who wish to own the A-series.

In addition, If you have some pics of Pre-A or Pre Vendome's axel, please do share with us.

Thanks in advance of all data provided.

Cheers

1) Is there the difference of the case of A and B series, or B-Transiltion (case only)

2) when the case is ding or serious damage dent or ding then when we go to Panerai service and change the case, the case will be affect with this axel and crown or not?

so, sorry slightly technical that we never have expereince, all you guy perhaps try or able to share expereince too.

Thanks Kreing, you are the same questions with me and hope we can share our experience each other too.

Sorry can't help you out.  Hopefully some who have some A series can look at their PAMs and help you out.

I'm wearing my PAM195 right now and pulled the crown out, and it looks like your PAM22B transitional.

Cheers,
Anthony

I've just noticed this couple weeks ago but try to find the best solution. I hope this will help all Panerai enthusiasts more or less.

Cheers

LOLOLOL
You Thia Panerisiti are completely nuts! ROFL...
So, where is the problem?

I checked with my Pre V, and I noticed that the axel wasn't perfectly centered, while on my Pam 36, the axel is perfectly centered.

Or quite perfectly, exactly like on your 22B or 9B.
.

Is there any reason to be worried?

2 explanations:

1st you have to never forget that Pre Vendome watches were not industrially made, but by a few artisans, so the necessities of the industrial world didn't concern pre v watches...

It is very possible that, as for the dials, all weren't made the same!

2d explanation: Yoour friend's 2 A crown protector was changed with a more modern one...

I won't be worry for that, honestly.

Best.

Nicolas
