A Panerai for Summer?
Jul 10 2008,03:41 AM

I take the occasion of this title to speak a bit of a quite rare Panerai we don't often speak about.

Rare it is, because it was made in 1996, as Sly asked, in a Limited Edition of 105 pieces.

We don't speak a lot of this watch also because it is white dialed!

And this is not fair, as this was the watch which made Panerai more famous than the brand was, before.

Here's the Beast:

This is the only pre vendome Panerai with a white dial, and the mother of all the others, which came in the Vendome Era...

Pam 3 and 10, but also, why not considering it like a member of the same family, the Pam 7?

Beside its historical interest, this is a very nice watch to wear, specially in Summer...And a particular one, too!

Now, it's your turn to play!

Show us your white dialed Panerais!

Best.

Whatever the color, what finally counts is the simplicity of the dial
Jul 10 2008,23:30 PM

If not too charged, like this one, I still find it appealing...

I have a bit more reserves about the Chrono Slytech, which is big, thick, and comes with a dial a bit too busy, IMO.

But this one, the 7, the 3 or 10...mmmmmmmm!

Thanks for your input, Gazoz!

Best.

I wish I had PAM7 as my first white dial Panerai.
Jul 10 2008,21:51 PM

However, I found out that this PAM7 is quite rare and I haven't seen one for sell for a long while.

Nice pic of the Sly, those patina look really amazing.

Thanks for your nice pics my friend.

Cheers

You're right, Krieng

Many were made in the 3 first years of production, with the smooth bezel.

But finding one in very good condition, and complete, is another story...

And not at a demential price, of course...

Best.

Another white face
Jul 12 2008,04:05 AM

Hey Nicolas,

Love your Slytech!

Here is another one for you to admire.

Not just a 3 with a T-dial......

How about a pre-A3 with a T-dial?

Explanation---
Jul 15 2008,16:14 PM

On the white face models, the words are always "T SWISS MADE T".

I believe this is to get the symmetry on the bottom of the watch.  The marker dot below the "6" is right in the middle of the text.  If the words were "T-SWISS-T" it would not be symmetrical.

Cheers!

Very nice white dialed Logo and MM...With the Daylight Sly, you would have a nice trio of white dial and blue indexes! LOL

Best, my friend.
