Swimming and running
Jul 19 2008,02:05 AM

I decided to slim down for the summer.  It was expensive on the wardrobe.  But I can tell you it is diet rather than exercise that works best.

In any case anything to do with water is my bag, swimming, skiing, etc. etc.

I hate running but it is what it is.

This summer I have a nice 1.5 mile lake run 2 or 3 laps in the Bois de Bologne.  Very nice.  Check out the this link to see my run.

It uses google maps so wait a minute for it to load and scroll down a little.

Cycling
Jul 23 2008,13:43 PM

Cycling, Hiking, Snowboarding, but I mainly have been a cyclist, both road bike and mountain bike, for nearly 30 years. I started when I was young and after rebelious motorcycle phase, decided to get into competitive cycling. I did that for over 10 years and now just enjoy it for more fun, riding in the mountains of Idaho. Hopefully the watch bug never reaches the obbsesion level, cycling  has become.

Any fellow Purist's into cycling? Road or mountain?

Mark

Just started training for an Ironman
Jul 24 2008,16:36 PM

In my case I started out with futbol (soccer), then merged into tennis (which I still play when I have the time and worthy adversary), but I settled in swimming, sport which I deeply love and have been practicing for the better part of the last 12 years. And up until a couple of months ago, I decided I needed a new challenge, and an Ironman came into mind. So, now I am not only swimming, but also cycling, and running. I still have a little over a year to prepare for the event, but man, it takes some getting used to the long training sessions. All sacrifices come with a good reward, so mine is waiting for me on the other side of the finish line.

Happy trails,

Alex

I've never been a big fan of endurance sports personally.  Best of luck!
