My two.....
Jul 17 2008,14:32 PM

Obviously these are in 30t2, non-chronometer, cases.
A third, with a relatively rare 2605 case, is in the works.

And the rest?
Jul 24 2008,14:53 PM

Hi
it would be nice to see the movements ... are you sure that the dials are correct?
I would say that they are both 30T2 dials with the word chronometre added. And
in the wrong place  (it usually is below the symbol and above OMEGA).
Best wishes
Franco

The second is probably as you say. I believe the first is a chronometre dial.

It is marked "ZJ", which has been suggested by other knowledgeable  collectors  as  a  way  to distinguish them. I am always eager to learn, so please  correct me if that  is not the  case (excuse  the pun).
The movements came to me in a variety of ways, all watches with issues, but I believe are correct. I have four, all shown here.  But frankly can't recall which movement is now in  which case.
It is also a little more clear why the rest of us are having trouble finding these beauties. You've got them all!  Great collection.

Personally, I doubt it ...
Jul 29 2008,00:47 AM

For several reasons:

1- It is in pristine conditions, by the movements show some visible brass.  This is usually due to
the plating coming off due to vigorous cleaning of major oxidation by the watchmaker.  Now, if the
movements have been so exposed to physical agents (cold, wet), how come the dial is so perfect?

2- In my limited experience (I only have about 100-150 observations and pictures of Omega manual
wind chronometers) I have never seen the script "chronometre" at six.  It is usually below the Omega sign
and above the script "Omega:, except in the very early ones where the script "chronometre" is arched
and at the top

The brand ZJ is not at all an acknowledged indication of an Omega Chonometre dial.  That is an
overspill from Longines and Rolex collectors, not a rule for Omega dials.

Bill, Erich, what do you think? Opinions please

Best wishes
Franco

I doubt it too
Jul 31 2008,11:45 AM

Hello fellow RG lovers,

I doubt it too!

Franco you are right!

And you have pointed out all the important facts - nothing more to say!

Very rarely the word chronometre is found below the word Omega (confirmed by Omega Switzerland)
but in more than 99% the word Chronometre is between the logo and the word Omega.

Kind regards

Erich
