Advice on Sale
Jul 15 2008,07:58 AM

Hello... I was left several old pocket watches which I held on to for about 40 years. I am considering selling them and one is a GP. Can you advise as to how I should proceed? I hate to walk into a local jeweler as they will ask "how much do you want for it?"  and right there I am lost. The hinge is damaged and it has the incorrect crown. Here is a picture of the GP. Any advice is appreciated... Frank

We don´t do appraisals here, but...

G'day,

we don´t do appraisals; for such, i´d recommend getting in touch with a local service.

Nonetheless, but you may find some impressions on popular auction sites.
The pictured piece seems to stem from the 1910´s to 1930´s era and it´s not on par with GP´s high-end creations.
I´m quite confident it´s not anywhere near a contemporary GP timepiece (be it new or pre-owned).

Cheers,
Peter
