JR 2008 - a new variant for the Bressel
May 05 2008,21:42 PM
Dear enthusiasts, lately JEANRICHARD devotes itself to new forms of indicating time; that´s achieved on different levels, such as the "Linear Power Reserve" for the rectangular Paramount model. But the most outstanding evolution in this regard is the "Time Square", the propietory new indication system using a "satellite hand" powered by an elaborate gear train. For the Time Square, the hour hand moves forward in jumps, switching it´s position of the three-coloured triangle on top. The mechanism is hidden behind the plates, which creates an interesting "technical" look, while being very legible at the same time. But JEANRICHARD offers some more classic views as well, with fine details to set it apart. Off-set hour and minute hands, power reserve indication and a small second make for an interesting look; all this is powered by JR´s manufacture-made caliber JR 1000. The watch is a modern size of 42mm in diameter and with 10.5mm in height just thin enough to discretely fit under the sleeves. Particularly the sunray-brushed hour subdial makes it sparkle, as the finish allows for some interesting play of the light. To me it seems JEANRICHARD does "classic" as good as "innovative" and the new "BRESSEL ALTERNATIV" to be a very nice addition! Greetings from Germany, Peter |

Alternativ looks like the same dial layout as the GP enamel vintage 45

Are there any differences in the mechanics behind the dials? Just curious, Jeff

Of course
May 07 2008,11:22 AM Yep, there's definately a difference, as this JR's insides are based on the JR1000 and the GP obviously isn't. |
