Gold bracelet for 2185
Jun 19 2008,20:09 PM

Hello:
I am searching for an 18k yellow gold bracelet for a Blancpain 2185 chronograph.  The band that I am searching for was indeed available at the time of my original purchase, however, I chose the crock strap with deployant buckle.  Living in Florida has made the leather strap a costly affair since the tendency to sweat causes rapid deterioration of the leather and its stitching, ergo, the search for a gold bracelet.
None of the local dealers have knowledge of said bracelet and seem to have even less interest in searching for one.  Are there any suggestions as to whom I might contact to purchase said bracelet?
Thank you in advance,
Ron

I've rarely seen a gold bracelet

and even fewer yellow gold bracelets.  I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but I might but a similar watch in steel on a steel bracelet.  It's probably not that much more than a YG bracelet.

Gold bracelet
Jun 20 2008,10:53 AM

Hi:
Thank you for your reply.
There was a matching gold bracelet available from Blancpain at the time of my original watch purchase, however, the price was prohibitive (in the range of 19-20k ... way more than the watch itself) and for that reason I rejected the idea.  I have since found it almost impossible to keep up with the need to replace the expensive leather bands (delpoyant clasp version) due to sweat saturation and resultant breakdown of the leather.  I have therefore decided that in order to continue to wear the watch it needs a matching gold bracelet.  If I cannot accomplish that goal I will be forced to leave the watch in my vault or sell it and go back to wearing the ubiquitous, old Rolex.

I did contact Blancpain directly but they seem to have misunderstood my request and rather than informing me of the availability of the bracelet or lack thereof, they simply sent me a listing of all of their US dealers along with a note indicating that they cannot sell direct.

I have seen several watches of the same model shown in white gold with the bracelet on various internet sites but nothing in yellow gold.

Well, in the final analysis, I may have to chuck the idea of wearing the Blancpain.
Sorry for the lengthy diatribe.

Hello NT:
Not sure I understood your message, vis-a-vis "... take care of this next week."

Did you check...

with the BP boutique in New York. They may have a bracelet in stock. Ask for Jaclyn 212-396-1735. She has been a great help with straps and may know where to get a gold bracelet
