chinese dragon and Leo!!
Jul 05 2008,13:28 PM
i note, as has Nicholas, that there are quite a few 1964 dragons on the forum. perhaps the chinese years have a stronger link too our collecting than monthly star signs. i'm a firm believer in the strength of the dragon. i know i've said it before, but i'll say it again, my wife and i are both dragons me being 1964 and her being 1976 and we have a very strong relationship where everything we do seems to work and we come up smelling of roses. this was not the case with my first wife where everything we did ended up smelling of s***. as an aside, my oldest child is also a dragon 1988 and he seems to be doing fine. technically as a Dragon and a Leo i should be highly successful and leader of the free world in my spare time, but alas this is not the case Graham |

I don’t believe that I am at all like my signs would suggest, but what draws us to horology is still a fascinating question.
I have collected things for as long as I can remember. I often moved from one collection to the next, although I retained that interest and often go back to old passions. Part of it is imposing order onto chaos; some of it is the need to understand topics as fully as I can. Anything with a good deal of history and complexity also helps.
This seems to have intersected with my fascination with mechanics (although my training and career centres on biological systems) and an appreciation (although a poor understanding) of art and design.
I tend to think the answers will lie more in psychoanalysis than in the stars, but an interesting question!

Maybe there is something to this …
Jul 06 2008,19:41 PM
I didn’t know too much about the characteristics of these signs. So off to that great source of information and misinformation I went: the Internet. I read that 1964 Dragon characteristics are tempered by the element wood, which is supposed to make us more creative and ‘arty’. We apparently are good at making money but not accumulating it … well, the reason for that is quite clear and can be found in my watch box! Perhaps we should start a club, or at least a support group… Andrew |

RESULTS
Jul 07 2008,09:34 AM
Not statistically reliable but from what is so far answered main aspect is Dragon in Chinese horoscope then Libra & Leo in Western horoscope but also important factor year of 64 .... so this is far cry but the reason for this is that you felt as very young that all industry is going down and decided to stop this as grown ups via collecting mechanical timepieces :0))) ( I'll quote The first prototypes of electronic quartz watches were made by the CEH research laboratory in Switzerland in 1962)
I'll be very happy if more people should answered so results can point out to firm conclusion and some kind of reliability that all this WIS is written in STARS * ;0) Damian |
