Paparazzi Snaps: Concord C1 Tourbillon Gravity
May 12 2008,07:30 AM
Remember previous postings about the Concord C1 Tourbillon Gravity by 'Night Watchman' and 'Secret Squirrel'? We also had PuristS photos by Marcus Hanke from Basel. Pre-Basel 2008 Press Photos: click here BaselWorld 2008 Press Photos: click here BaselWorld 2008 PuristS Photos: click here
The working Concord C1 Tourbillon arrived in Singapore today - the first Asian country after BaselWorld. Like a tropical thunderstorm, it'll be here today and gone tomorrow! Since both Night Watchman and Secret Squirrel are in Switzerland, we had to depend on our local papparazzi from TimeWerke magazine for these real-world photos; thanks be to them. On the wrist of Stefan Feltgen - responsible for Concord's sales and marketing
There will be one more change to the final production model. No - not the change to the seconds indicator that I suggested.....but the crown will be more user-friendly. The fancy term is ergonomic
Check out the DLC (diamond like coating) on the back - cool, eh? "Audacious Disruption!" as Vincent Perriard keeps saying.
Regards, MTF

Looks more like a complex machine than a watch. Awesome! Cheers, |

I'm not convinced by the overall design of the watch. |

Looks cool! How big a wrist would I need?

Looks like it would do serious damage to ones wallet as well! |

looks very wearable...
May 12 2008,19:37 PM
even though it appears large. Recall that Marcus Hanke's excellent report had earlier mentioned that the watch is 47mm in diameter and had a thickness of 13.5mm and "does not look too chunky on the wrist". Going by the pictures, it does seem wearable and not uncomfortable on the wrist.

ahhh was too excited... and had to know
May 13 2008,01:54 AM
Sorry about that - had to know the dimensions after viewing the pics. Asked around and around and someone said the case diameter is 48.5mm while thickness is 18.5mm. and still think the pics say it all - that it is a wearable watch. the 'lugless' system is very clever. |

If it's the same size as the regular C1, u don't need a large wrist
May 12 2008,20:49 PM
I love how the C1 fits on my wrist, and the lugless case makes it even easier for the smallest wrists to wear the watch since the rubber strap immediately goes downward to your wrist. I use the 1st hole on the deployant strap for the C1 and it fits my wrist fine IMO Cheers, |

It is larger than the C1 chronograph ...
May 13 2008,00:07 AM
... I think the tourbillon measures some 46mm. Yet dur to its lugless design, it sits nicely on even thinner wrists. |

Mr. Perriard had the firm intention to start delivery within a few months ....
May 13 2008,00:10 AM
... what would be great, and a big difference, compared with the novelties shown by most other brands, which normally need at least eight to ten months, before they appear in the shops. |

I can appreciate the concept...
May 13 2008,20:54 PM However, I do not find the watch appealing. |
