Do you think the numeral 3 is bigger than the numeral 9 smile *CL

I think so.

Hi CL

The base of the 3 does appear to be wider than the base of the 9.  But does not put the face off balance.  But again this is a photo taken with a slight angle.

Here is a picture of one I found here on the site.  Looks balanced but still a little heavier base on the 3.

And here is a beautiful "Big" Picture from SteveG.

it turns out to be an illusion smile It shows it is really not easy to make a very simple watch. One can pick on anything ;-) Lovesss*CL

no 3 is 3 times smaller than nine...
Jul 03 2008,07:20 AM

I doubt it - knowing the perfection of this watch............but there is NO way anyone can tell from ONE photograph, much less when it is not in a higher resolution. One would need at least 3 pictures from DIFFERENT anglels and you can measure it in software like photomodeler.

And Nr 12?
Jul 03 2008,07:02 AM

I'd even worry about the horizontal allignment of Nr. "12"! Since the kerning and the width of Nr. "1" and "2" is different, the whole "12" is a bit left alligned. Anyway, this dial is wonderful, the tiny things like this improve charm of the watch!

This is a VERY interesting topic: Mathematics, measurements, the human eye and perception

How to reconcile? Expect some more on this towards the end of the year...

Cheers,
Magnus

No because the font used doesn't have a fixed width...
Jul 04 2008,15:22 PM

like the courrier font for example.

CL, the only way to sort this out is to send it to me for a month
Jul 23 2008,11:19 AM

after a month of constant wear, appreciation and drooling, i'll tell you if the numerals are ok smile

even though i love unusual dials i find this Dufour simply beautiful

yet another piece i'll never own

sell the rest CL, this is all you need on your wrist with a G-Shock for holidays.

Graham
