Please help identify this watch
Feb 08 2010,21:09 PM

I am trying to help a friend identify this watch. The information I have been given is that it is approx 18 to 20 years old and is a Chronometer model with serial number 135.22

Cheers,

Hhmmmm ....

... if the watch is indeed not older than twenty years, it dates already from the time after Rolf Schnyder acquired the company. The normal nomenclature system of the reference number assigns the third number to the case material:

xx0=white gold
xx1=yellow gold
xx2=red gold
xx3=stainless steel
xx6=pink gold
xx8=palladium
xx9=platinum

The only xx5-designation I am aware of is worn by the new Maxi Diver in titanium with red gold bezel (weirdly, the titanium/steel-counterpart wears the xx3-code). However, this is too new to match your friend's watch.

Ref. 13x points toward a San Marco chronometer, but, as said, I am puzzled by the -5.

So if you could show us a picture, this would certainly be of assistance.

Regards,
Marcus
