Sleepless night .. thinking of Freak 1, any experience to be shared?
May 10 2008,19:33 PM
Been thinking of pulling a trigger on Freak 1 WG ... this one is owned by my best friend. But it has just been returned from service for the third time and so far works well. What is actually the problem? Can it be permanently fixed? or we just have to lived with it? Anyone can share some enlightment? |

Andreas, The Freak 1 is a " difficult " watch

I mean that it's well known that you may have some problems with it, but hey, you know that... I knew that too whenI decided to buy one... Yes, it went for service 3 times, one because of the movement, then for the bezel ( I asked them to arrange it as to avoid it turns accidentaly ), and then a last time because of the strap... Now, my Freak perfectly works, and I have no fear wearing it, only a great pleasure... The only thing is that it is perfectly accurate during the 6 first days, and at the end of the power reserve ( 7 days, in theory, but effectively 10 days! ),it takes 45 sec per day... So, I'm an happy Freakie owner! LOL One last word...or 3... JUMP ON IT! Best. Nicolas

I do not mind sending the watch for services as long as the mfg is able to fixed the problem so we do not have to send the watch 3 times to fix the same problem. If that happen it may takes the joy of the ownership though. But still you know.. its a freaky watch anyway. |

How many Freak 1's were delivered?
May 13 2008,22:46 PM
Hello Nicolas, I'm curious if you know how many actual Freak 1's were sold by the factory. I ask that because due to the reliability issue since the beginning, I have a gut feeling that UN did not deliver as many Freak 1's as they had figured they would from the onset. Are there any official numbers? Thanks, B This message has been edited by bipllc on 2008-05-13 22:52:07 |

Hi, B, I'm afraid that no one knows

I asked some time ago,and didn't receive answers... I assume that due to the complexity and the problems met with this 1st version, no many Freaks were produced... I'd say less than a total of 1000 in 4 years. Best. Nicolas |

the last enquiry we had about the numbers were approx 240 in each colour
May 16 2008,13:26 PM
its from a thread a few months ago. some went back and were replaced with same numbers on like mine so there are some faulty ones in the parts bin which lowers the numbers a bit. as far as ownership goes all i can say is that my 2nd owner RG upgraded freak 1 is fabulous so BUY BUY BUY if not give me his email and i'll sell my wife to buy a WG to match my RG if it hadnt been for the freak i wouldnt be on this forum so its a life choice as well as a unique timepiece.
