Pure Simplicity and a few questions :-)
Jul 16 2008,08:10 AM

I have a question for Patek lovers.........will you ever get yourself a watch from independence? If yes, which will it be to go with your Pateks? I have known a few hardcore Patek collectors ,whose collections include 5050, 3970, 5970, 5004 ....etc , who has no idea who is Dufour, Vianney , Kari or Felix (URWERK)....... they do know Richard Mille though ;-) I look forward to hear your thoughts. I like diversity in my collection so I plan to ...

... acquire a KV chronometer within the next two to five years. Also, I still in lust for a VH Antigua. For me, I find many that of the AHCI contributions are more appealing aesthetically than most Pateks and that for some watches by independents their finishing is equal to or better.

Currently own only one Patek, the 5980, but previously owned and enjoyed wearing the 5110P, 5055R, and 5165A (original version).

Bottom line, is that if I like a watch who made it is not a deal breaker in purchase decision.

Cheers and live well!

My choices would be...

...a Dornblueth 99.1, and on the high end a Kari Observatoire.

Best,

Are for me the nicest examples of the Independants....

I love diversitty in watches, and could not stay " monobrand"...

There are so many treasures to discover here and there than it would be a pity to stay with only one brand, even if PP...

Best.

Nicolas

Apart from PP, I also like KV and DF

IMHO, 5196 is a nice watch but Simplicity and Observatorie are art pieces.

I truly admire Volker Vyskocil and his V-30/45-01-A.
