The essence of purism
Jul 04 2008,06:06 AM

for me is - PP Ref. 96.

My favourite and first Patek is a PP Ref. 96, steel, caliber 12"-120, two Geneva seals, ...

Let me show you some first impressions:

It is a feast for my eyes to see all these great details on a watch which is more than 60 years old.

The watch is just 31 mm, but (surprise, surprise) looks impressing on the wrist. What is it? The "stealth" look with brown croc strap? ...?

Comparing with a ALS 1815, 36 mm:

Side note: It is much easier to get a (nice) photo of a "stealth" comparing to a "darth" ;-)

Looking  forward to get your thoughts.

Beautiful watch. Overlapping hour markers.
Jul 05 2008,00:35 AM

Could someone explain why the hour markers are flat, and the 5 and 7 markers overlap with the seconds dial in this piece?
Is this a different version of this?:

Agree with you, Oliver!

This PP 96 is a stunning, elegant and timeless watch.
Due to the great aperture of the dial, the watch looks bigger than it is in real.
Nice catch, my friend!
Best.
Nicolas
