New Addition!
Jul 03 2008,07:46 AM

I've been on "the list" at my AD for a while for a Patek and I feel like what Mr. T. Stern said during a Patek talk at Tempus 2007 in Singapore is very true. He said that Patek should change their slogan from "You never actually own a Patek Philippe. You merely look after it for the next generation" to "You never actually own a Patek Philippe. You merely order it for the next generation".

So while I've been (impatiently) waiting, my wife surprised me by getting me a little something to cheer me up until my ordered watch comes in.

I've always liked the 5196 and its classic timeless design. It's my favourite Calatrava from the current collection. The size is just right for me. I'm partial to rose gold and the metal colour and dial combination is perfect.

Here's a quick (and really bad) wrist short. Pardon my non-existent photographic skills and gorilla hair arm.

I'm extremely lucky to have such a wonderful wife that encourages me in this crazy hobby.

Thanks for reading,

Stefano

As for the Gorilla Hair, I am King Kong, compared to you! LOL

As for the 5196, you're more than correct, this is a real timeless watch, with a sublime balanced dial, and perfect proportions

A  watch to get, for those who hunt a dressy time piece, a reference, indeed!

Congrats for your new addi(c)tion, my friend.

And, of course, but it's useless to say it, enjoy it!

Nicolas

I never thought I had a hairy arm until I did a wrist shot. I think the pictures are deceiving. But there's no deceiving good taste and your wrist proves that!

Nicolas, maybe you should post a wrist shot to compare.

I'll try to take more photos, but I'm not really good at photography.

Really enjoying this new addition!
