Interesting news about 5159
May 13 2008,18:08 PM
I found from one seller that Pateks are completely selling out now. Apparently, in the past only people like me who were watch collectors were buying them. Now, they are seen as investment opportunity and everyone is jumping into them. This was made worse by the 5102 which became worth 325k when its original value is only 192k once it was discontinued in WG. He expected it to become worth at least 500k before stabilizing. |

one for sale on Ebay for 89k at the moment
May 13 2008,19:47 PM Although I would say that this watch is a great alternative to 5970.. The dial really 'pops' when you wear it in certain light -- I've gotten many compliments.. Surprising how many people notice actually. |

Patek makes a lot of complicated watches but

for each type they make a small number of watches. They are becoming more limited in their releases now compared to the past. This is due to some of their models in the past not being received well by the market. I was suggested that the 5159 might also be a limited release, so I have to grab one if I wanted it. Of course, that may not be true. |
