Not sure if I'm the only one who likes it this way

but here's some very amateur pics of how the NON AR coating makes the black dial appear somewhat anthracite...which I personally dig.
Like I said previously, I like the way reflections play a part in the way a dial is perceived... I haven't captured my dial exactly but what the heck...

Very tempting watch, indeed

With or whitout Anti Reflect Coating, the Lange one is a very strong watch, in this size, with this original design, maybe much more than the new one, the Grande Lange 1...

Congrats to both of you, happy owners!

Best.

Nicolas

Beautiful watch, one of my faves
Jul 17 2008,10:54 AM

does it have non ARC? I believe all L1's were originally non ARC, up to about 4 years ago. (?)

To be honest ...
Jul 17 2008,11:30 AM

I have no idea if there is a AR coating on mine or not. What do you think?

Anyway - I love it ;-)

My watch is about the 2000 vintage, so not sure about AR
Jul 17 2008,15:56 PM

The watch went back to the factory last year for a complete spar treatment and this is the result.  The pink tinge is the reflection from the light source. Its pure white gold.

The challenge is taking the short while eliminating the reflection.  The black or dark blue dial are challenging.

I agree with your assesment of the Grand lange 1, to me its out of proportion, the dial is loosing its simplicity. my two cents.

Cheers benio

sort of hard to tell, but

first of all, your pictures sent me into a tizzy while back, confirming that I had to have the black dial once and for all. Thank you SLW!!  And second, if your watch was bought in the last few years NEW, it very likely does have ARC.
