I was unable to get this piece through a recent auction....but I got it through another source today. Needless to say,  I am very happy about it...

By the way...
Jun 26 2008,19:09 PM

It was designed like a marine chronometer annd created in 2005 to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Wempe's "Chronometerwerke Hamburg", one of the world's leading manufactures of marine chronometers and precision insturments, established by 7 major ship owners in this North German city on October 10, 1905. It is the only Langematik with power reserve indication. 100 pieces were made in yellow gold, 100 in platinum and 25 in pink gold.

Love this special Lange, Sam
Jun 26 2008,15:18 PM

If only all the LE could be as nice as this one...This is just a great catch!

My wish List is going to be longer and longer, and don't thank you for that...LOL

Best.

Nicolas

I(m nothing else than a lover of your Lange, my friend
Jun 26 2008,22:33 PM

The funny thing is that Wempe is also a brand who was known,( and still is ), as a Chronometer Maker.
So, Lange + Wempe, this was the winning Combo, indeed.
Really like this design, pure, strong,, a bit austere, but so classy!
If I could, I think that yes, I'd jump on it!

I am wondering how ...
Jun 26 2008,15:20 PM

many of "us WISes" bid on this watch recently auctioned! I know where the
sample recently sold by AQ Geneva ended up... no, not in my watchbox but I
was tempted to place an absentee bid!

Congrats on the watch! I think it is a brilliant watch, pity it has an
automatic movement, but that is the only flaw I can find on this watch.

Wear it in the best of health,

Edwin

btw, I´d love to see some shots of the (fantastic) case.

Great watch
Jun 26 2008,18:52 PM

and interestingly these were available for a long time directly from Wempe--I don't think they were particularly hot sellers, even though a beautiful LE.  Unfortunately I did not make the purchase, but was very tempted.

I was thinking the same until
Jun 26 2008,23:52 PM

I realized the watch costs (MSRP) approx 32K Euro for the PT version! That
IS a lot of money!

A similar piece was auctioned two months ago via Antiquorum in Geneva
Jun 27 2008,00:11 AM

Admittedly, it is not a hotly sought after piece. Another auction at Christie's a year ago was aborted. But come to think of it, a Richard Lange PT would cost the same and it is not a LE.....

But a Richard Lange ...
Jun 27 2008,00:23 AM

has such a fantastic "engine" that I might pick the RL over the Wempe LE,
MIGHT ... !!

The case is fantastic too; shows the attention to details by Lange. I really
like this watch! Do you know if all models (PT, RG and WG) share the same
dial?

Congrats!
Jun 28 2008,03:13 AM

I had the good fortune of seeing the gold version at Wempe some years ago and it is certainly a beautiful. In fact I think it's an underappreciated Lange.

Prefer it in Platinum
Jul 02 2008,13:25 PM

But it would be different if the combo was Rose Gold / Black Dial...

In this presentation, The platinum is, IMHO, nicer.

As always, FX, you're at the good place at the good moment! LOL

Best.

Nicolas
