4 seconds of error in 30 days....
Jun 30 2008,17:53 PM

For those that have an interest in accuracy of mechanical watches I have kept a record of timekeeping on a Breguet 5817 for the last 3 months.

For the 30 days of June just finished...the watch has an error factor of 4 seconds fast.

This is interesting because when the watch was almost new.... it recorded a 28 second slow loss for the month of March. In May the error factor was also slow by 13 seconds for the whole month.

June has seen it even more accurate with an error of 4 seconds fast.....may be it is different wear , may be watches do need to be "run in"...but either way thereseems to be a pattern of the watch picking up speed.

Either way, it does no matter as it seems that the Breguet 5817 movement is about as good as I have ever found for  accuracy and consistenancy....including quatz watches that I have owned.

Kindest regards to all,

Jack.

HI Jack,

Thanks for the accuracy test for a period of time.

Kinda agree with you, they seem need to be  "run in"  when they are new from the factory.

thanks again.

regards,

BHK9

Hi Jack

Now that's dedication to record keeping.  I guess the pleasure of knowing the watch is so accurate is keeping you motivated to record it's heart beat.

I wonder if there are any challengers out there who could take you up on another race.   Someone must know they are as accurate.
