Thank you for the response and sympathy.
I am well aware of what I had, since I had researched it extensively, including the caliber 1120 which you mentioned (ultra-thin) – one of the marvels of the time and still today. My dad was very proud of his ultra-thin watch while I preferred Rolex.
I learnt to appreciate the VC and am now hooked to it; while Rolex has its share of 'extraordinary machinery', VC also has, and I have also learnt to appreciate Patek Philippe. I gave my wife a Twenty-4 on our last trip to Switzerland. I am however only now turning to vintage, but I am fascinated.
Can you help me understand what the K1 part in the model number of the 7409 (K1 7409) ?
