So it is not only me who is annoyed by the world getting cheaper and cheaper. That is good to hear.
Here in Germany we have a electronics supermarket that advertises with a slogan "Geiz ist geil" that BBC translated to "
Being stingy is cool". (First time I see a sentence that is shorter in German than in English.) The bad thing is that this slogan very quickly entered into people's daily talk and that they believed it. I cannot say if the sentiment was there first or the advertisement. But at least it expresses the zeitgeist perfectly.

I believe that being quite fed up with this spirit is one of the main reasons why I feel myself so drawn towards G.O. You described perfectly the core of the brand: Handmade in Germany. And one only needs to go to Glashütte to convince himself that it is true. A very pleasurable experience.

Of course we have to pay (sometimes much)more for quality and for things that last. But that is probably the only way to make them survive.

So much for tonight's sermon smile

Best,
Martin
