Frustration with Omega - Getting the COSC Test Results | |
| May 12, 2008,11:38 AM - (view entire thread) | |
Hi Everybody.
I own a 45 mm Planet Ocean, purchased through an AD on the West Coast (I live on the East Coast). I love the watch and have both the Warranty Card and COSC Card.
Having been told that if one contacts Omega and requests it, you can be provided the COSC test results on your specific watch, here's what I've done so far:
a) I emailed Omega via their website, providing Model, Model Number, Serial Number, date of purchase and place of purchase, requesting guidance on how I can get the test results. RESULT: No response.
b) I subsequently wrote a letter to the Omega Service Center in Seacaucus, NJ (specific name and address provided to me over the phone). I attached photocopies of my warranty card and COSC card and requested the test results. That was about 2 months ago. RESULT: No response.
c) Today, I called back to the Omega Service Center in Seacaucus NJ and spoke to a person named "Yolanda". I explained my situation and asked for her assistance. "Yolanda" told me, in no uncertain terms, that Omega will NOT provide me with any further documentation unless I physically mail my watch in to the Seacaucus Service Center. MY RESPONSE: "Fat chance!"
This is, I guess, the price one pays for dealing with a large watch company that sells watches by the thousand and is a division of an even larger company. But can some one help me here? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any assistance.
DB Darien
PS: Don't suggest that I contact the West Coast AD. For unrelated reasons, that's not an option.
