Lehmann Schramberg

Lehmann is a new German brand started by people experienced in making machine tools for the watchmaking industry.  The esthetic with its big indexes and hands with sharp clean beveling contrasting with a very rounded case is what I would describe as "Teutonic luxury".  Lehmann supplies the gear train and balance/escapement from a Swiss supplier and produces the rest, plate, bridges, case, etc. themselves.  The signature crown disappears into the case, with a little pull on the rim it pops out to be easily used.  A gentle press and it disappears again into the case rim. Note that Lehmann has procured the rights to use Vianney Halter's patent for an invisible winding rotor.  Automatic watches with manual watch esthetic on the bridge side.

Lehmann's initial collection consits of a Window date, a pointer date, a Power reserve and a Tourbillon watch.

i have a mixed feeling about them i wont allow myself to Drift with it... the Dial look a bit cold... though their Tourbillion cage is eye catching. Faisal

Intriguing ...

might take time to get used to, but the blue dial version looks rather nice. Looks a mixture of retro and modern design... Thanks for bringing us to the attention of something new and different Don!

I love the Teutonic-ness in all these!

Lehmann the novelty of this year

 By: PhilippeTheSaint : March 25th, 2012-09:54
Don, this is for me the novelty of this year at Basel in the independent category. At this meeting we met an industrialist, independent watchmaker who has the means to reach this passion that continues since childhood. Constructing watches that defy time ...
