That's a lot of chf's!

I'm gathering that the Journe went for the higher price.

You know, a while back I was trying to acquire a high-level Patek. I was telling the owner of that watch that I had a Simplicity on the way. He was seriously interested in watches, and obviously owned a fantastically rare Patek. Yet when I mentioned Dufour, he had no idea who the man was...

My 1/4 US cent on this auction is: Journe is simply better known, he advertises, he has boutiques, etc. he has new models regularly, and his own watch forum on at least two major watch sites.

(although sometimes it seems the Independent Forum  is a Dufour forum... smile

But anyway... this is not to say the Journe is not deserving of the higher price, but just one perspective on a watchmaker's fame.

Dufour is still, I think, a cult. Not known at all to many, many otherwise well-versed watch lovers...
