That's all for the moment, but we'll certainly be able to see it in the flesh soon.

Lange ZeitWerk, Here it is

 By: amanico : May 7th, 2009-06:52
This is a strong watch, made in Platinum, White Gold, Yellow Gold or Rose Gold. The case is 41, 9 mm big for 12,6mm heigh, which gives it some nice volumes. The movement is a new one, the Cal L 043.1, a 3/4 plate, decorated and finnished " ala Lange " whi...

shocked!!!!!!!!!!!!

 By: moc : May 7th, 2009-07:06

 By: amanico : May 7th, 2009-08:11
Indeed this watch deserves to be appreciated in time... Best, Nicolas

Well... I've been looking for a white dial rose gold piece

 By: ArthurSG : May 7th, 2009-07:06
Would you know when it gets to ADs?

Still don't know nothing about availability, my friend...

 By: amanico : May 7th, 2009-08:10
But will ask. Perhaps Stephen knows? Best, nicolas

Haha, not me, oh no, not yet....

 By: BluNotte : May 7th, 2009-08:50
But I will tell you guys once things are more solid, like the Platinum case that i will get mine in. Cheers Stephen

Haha, LoL i wish i were my friend! [nt]

It's cool, ya gotta admit, ain't it?

 By: BluNotte : May 7th, 2009-08:50
Cheers Stephen

Different

 By: harlan : May 7th, 2009-12:32
Different, yes. But not cool, in my opinion. Interesting design, but I don't think they'll sell too many.

Think you might have got this one slightly wrong

 By: Fesalu : April 21st, 2012-07:27
Cant find one anywhere for love nor money!!!!!!!!! They sell quicker than hot cakes outside a weight watchers club.

Stephen has ordered the Pt. version before seeing it in the metal!

 By: ianny : May 7th, 2009-07:18
I think he has made the right choice. Not too sure about the WG version... but it's best to see it in the metal first. Thanks for sharing. The pics here are better than those compared to the other sites. Warm regards, iAn

My buddy Ianny, you advertise me before I even said anything, haha

 By: BluNotte : May 7th, 2009-08:51
This watch IS A BEAUTY. Don't you agree? I wish you get yours in the WG if you like the black dial. Cheers Stephen

I think I'm 'retired' from this hobby.....

 By: CL : May 7th, 2009-07:27
if they keep coming out watches above 39mm :-( *CL

Hmmmmmm

 By: Mostel : May 7th, 2009-09:19
It seems like ALS was trying to exploit their glorious date window in a new way? Eh...... I'm sure it will have its way with a handful of collectors and over time become more popular, but.... it does nothing for me, personally! This message has been edite...

Very unique design.

 By: aris d : May 7th, 2009-07:27
I need to see them in flesh but from the pictures I like more the white gold version. Do we have the prices and the availability? Aris

About availability, don't know

 By: amanico : May 7th, 2009-08:12
But about prices, more or less the price of a RG Dato and a platinum Dato... Best, nicolas

What I heard so far ...

 By: small-luxury-world : May 7th, 2009-09:13
prices are "close" to the prices of the Dato in the different metals. YG is the cheapest, then RG+WG and on the top PT. Hope this info is ok with the forum rules. If not - delete. Oliver

New line and regular production I suppose

 By: patrickh : May 7th, 2009-07:40
To be seen in the flesh before final appreciation. A case-back pic will be of great interest. Thanks for this post with other pictures than those found on other sites. Best, patrickh

you never mentionned it is a LE. It is only a DATE for L&S

 By: patrickh : May 7th, 2009-08:23
to add this new modern line in their catalog and we have could expected by the teaser, this model should be dedicated to a special event.. Patrickh

Thanks for the photos Nicolas

 By: SJX : May 7th, 2009-08:30
When I first heard about the watch at SIHH, I didn't quite expect this. But it is impressive nonetheless and kudos to Lange! - SJX

I bet nobody expected this, Aesthetically and Horologically speaking, SJX

Thanks for all the info mon ami...

 By: BluNotte : May 7th, 2009-08:48
Just a correction for our friends out there, the small seconds hand is NOT zero-reset, it's just a normal stop seconds ( hacking seconds). WOnder if you meant the 1st one but miswrote it for the 2nd. Cheers Stephen

Stop seconds, you're right, Stephen.

 By: amanico : May 7th, 2009-11:13
My bad... Best and thanks a lot of for the correction. And for the nice words, too! Nicolas

OMG! I am lost for words...

 By: samwan : May 7th, 2009-08:49
This will surely make me rethink about my love for Lange. I have nothing against jumping hours and minutes, but what kind of genius came up with the idea of inscribing a Jockey undershirt on the dial? I hope I will change my mind when the whole concept si...

You might Sam, given time to consider...

Just realized what you meant. OMG is right.

ALS has officially jumped the shark!

 By: Craig LA : May 7th, 2009-08:49
Thanks for the report Nicolas. I commend ALS's innovation, creativity and advancement of watch technology. That being said, this new piece is, IMHO, not commensurate with ALS' extraordinary tradition of excellence. Yes, the movement is impressive, but the...

LoL Craig, are you sure?

 By: BluNotte : May 7th, 2009-08:55
Maybe you shouldn't jump to conclusions so fast. Have a look at it again, at the choices available, you just might find yourself changing course... Then again, of course no one to force you, but as for me, i'm jumping on it! Cheers Stephen

Stephen, I respect your impecable taste . . .

 By: Craig LA : May 7th, 2009-08:58
Perhaps my opinion will change over time, particularly as senility sets it, but for now, I am left empty and disappointed. Craig

I 100% agree with you Craig.

 By: samwan : May 7th, 2009-17:09
No...I take it back...200% Sam

By the way Mon ami, love the way how you put the Pt version

 By: BluNotte : May 7th, 2009-08:57
As the very 1st shot, while other sites would have put it as at least the 2nd shot. Know your purity and love for the metal like me... And i'm real glad you are OUR MODERATOR! Merci beaucoup! Stephen

I don't know ...

 By: Bruno.M1 : May 7th, 2009-09:28
not ugly but not very beautifull. When speaking of watches I'm an old fart so this might be too modern for me. But give me some months and let me see one before I'll make my final judgement

and one thing I don't get and don't like

 By: Bruno.M1 : May 7th, 2009-09:38
they create a perfect symmetric watch but why do we have a screw at the right side of the hours and something like a gold chaton at the left side ot the minutes ? Couldn't they use 2 screws or 2 chatons ?

the stars at night was completely misleading

 By: Mostel : May 7th, 2009-09:32
was it not?? relevance?

Unprecedented experience for me, I must say.

 By: boa2 : May 7th, 2009-09:39
I've gone from scratching my head to loving it in a matter of 2 hours. I can't wait to see it in person. There is something epic about this one.

I find it interesting, but what is in the symmetric position to the dial screw...

 By: Ronald Held : May 7th, 2009-09:59
and why is there such a screw on the dial?

Letting this one sink in...

When looking at a watch for the first time, I usually know right away if it is a "must have." In this case, my first impression is "no, thanks." The concept is terrific, though the dial execution leaves me cold. On the bright side, it certainly makes my G...

Thanks Nicolas

 By: Stefano : May 7th, 2009-10:04
I was expecting a minute repeater and Lange launched something completely different. It's certainly very innovative. My least favourite metal is the WG because of the sharp contrast between the silver and black/charcoal dial.

This watch pays hommage to the Opera House Clock

 By: patrick_y : May 7th, 2009-10:31
Beautiful, and oddly symmetrical. This watch almost reminds me of a watch with a digital display. This watch pays its hommage to the original Dresden Opera House Clock, except that it does have the minutes instead of every five minutes (the Dresden Opera ...

 By: LeonDNumidia : May 7th, 2009-11:07

It's all about taste, Leon

 By: amanico : May 7th, 2009-11:28
The interesting thing is that watch leads to passionate discussions, and I love that. Agree that the easthetics of the dial is uncommon for a Manufacture Like Lange. But Ugly? I think that each time we see new things, we have to let a bit of time pass, an...

Leon, that is maybe the Center of the Problem

 By: amanico : May 7th, 2009-13:30
Very interesting point you made... The problem with this watch is that everybody expected something astronomic, due to the treasing ad, and the problem is also that Lange has a very classic image, and why not saying it this way, a lot ofd people think tha...

Nicolas- a very good point....

 By: MiniCooper : May 7th, 2009-16:24

Fitting in the Lange collection?

 By: anaesdoc : May 7th, 2009-11:30
Hello Lange Purists, does this watch fit in the entire Lange collection? Of course it really doesn´t, being so different - of course it does, being so different. It all depends on your point of view. It does not have the classic aesthetic features I ...

It's genius actually!

 By: Mostel : May 7th, 2009-12:10
Because think about it! Now you get to see the amazing Lange 'date window' change every single minute! That feature alone may seduce many who initially think this design is well, " ".

I'm indifferent.

 By: MichaelC : May 7th, 2009-13:30
Just kidding Nicolas my friend!! Put me on the "love it" side. Especially the platinum and RG versions. The WG really accentuates the boldness of the silver dial plate, perhaps too much so IMO. The crown at 2 is especially nice. Thanks for the post!

Yuo know what watch I had in mind when seeing this Lange, Michael?

 By: amanico : May 7th, 2009-13:41
The UN 160 Anniversary...! Think about it: Commemorative watch + Horological expression + original design for both of these watches! Best, Nicolas

Agree on all counts!

 By: MichaelC : May 8th, 2009-05:47
The 160 was somewhat polarizing aesthetically as well when introduced, but has surely been accepted over time. It is a legend for UN, and I believe the ZW will be for Lange as well.

Mixed emotions

 By: foversta : May 7th, 2009-13:42
First of all, the work on the caliber is stunning. In less than 4 months, Lange released 2 calibers which are unique in the industry. Congrats to them ! But if I was seduced by the design of the RL PLM, that's not the case here. I have the feeling to see ...

What a technical piece !!

 By: Steyr : May 7th, 2009-14:57
Merci Nicolas ! well like many people here, my felings are mixed depending on the side of the watch. So, OK, the dial could have been -much- better, but after one day looking at it, it gets a bit better depending on the color of this odd top part. Now, to...

You work for Lange! ): Lange wouldn't have put it better, Sister. When I spoke about the bridge, it was in a symbolic way, in a aesthetic point of view, and frankly I don't know if there is an utility to it. I guess YES, but I don't know. I'm exactly on t...
