Since the MUT is not a complicated watch (not to say that it's a simple one!), I'd say JLC need to really mess up to let a fault slip through their QC.

At the time I thought (and hoped) it's only a simple misalignment that might be fixed by the AD...The AD had the watch for inspection for some time, but they didn't see the real problem. Here are the recent developments in my miserable watch case. The AD's watchmaker inspected the watch and informed me that the "day/night" indicator offset is only 30min and it's not worth bothering with. I agreed but suspected something worse - the misalignment cannot change from 3hours to 30 minute
Thank you Nicolas for contacting JLC for me. Right now my AD expressed their deep concern and decided to take back the watch for a thorough inspection.
