 By: AndrewD : March 22nd, 2011-21:29
Have you ever noticed that all the official photos of the F.P.Journe calendar watches are set to the date of “22”? This has been consistent since the first edition of the F.P.Journe catalogue – the Third Edition was released late last year. Well the answe...

March 22 (1923) was also the birth date of another controversial French figure, Marcel Marceau. The less said about that, the better. It is apparently the date of the birth of Maximilian I (1459), another self-proclaimed Emperor and General Braxton Bragg ...

Been "in the wars", Horo?...

...idiotic mind is a fat, sweat-sheened, polyester suited man calling Bingo. "Number Twenty Two....Two little ducks". Which seems rather insulting to both the Watch in question and its creator.....sorry.

Happy birthday, FPJ!

Fun background info., Andrew! Plus, "22" just looks nice and symmetrical in the date display. It's like setting the time to 10:10 -- visually harmonious! Daos

In France, 22 is associated to the cops.

 By: amanico : March 22nd, 2011-22:56
" 22, voilà les flics " ( 22, here are the cops ), which is what thieves shouted to warn the colleagues that the cops are coming. Best, Nicolas.

"Les flics"...

Happy Birthday, Mr. Journe! Best, CaliforniaJed...

The Calendrier says March 22 ...

 By: AndrewD : March 23rd, 2011-04:07
I just checked the 3 editions of the catalogue and the Calendrier always showed March 22. The other watches with date only show "22" of course. Andrew

It is a day late

 By: AndrewD : March 23rd, 2011-03:53
... exactly what happens, and I don't recall hearing exactly what the problem with the date disk was in that bad batch. The outer ('tens') disk has 0, 1, 2, 3 printed 3 times around it. Does it get to "3" and then fail to advance at all? Can you make it '...

its is jumping 11 days at a time...unique complication!!

 By: Hororgasm : March 23rd, 2011-06:46

Both the 'tens' and 'unit' disks turn each time. And the alignment of the two disks is always correct? Andrew...

The alignment can be quite "straight"

 By: Hororgasm : March 23rd, 2011-23:26
But not always at the first change of day at midnight. There is some jerkiness before alignment, but it always jump 11 days in a month cycle. Best, Horo

You are quite the fan!

Your personalized catalogue?

Just like the first edition of the Journe catalogue that was made specifically to accompany your 079/01R Resonance, it's nice that Mr Journe set all his watches to your birthday as well ... No wonder you and Journe are so connected! Andrew
