At the end, is it not a bit sad ?

If I read the watch fans community, maybe the two main novelties coming from Basel are a watch which was designed more than 60 years ago and another one created 40 years ago. Is it not a bit sad ? Are we so afraid of "new designs" ? Shall we need to be in...

There are many other watches, at the Basel Fair

A bit of spices with the new Rattrapante from PP; some blue dials, also, from PP, some new watches at Blancpain, like the transparent tourbillon, without forgetting the G.O PanoInverse in SS, which is a watch which deserves a lot of attention and affectio...

Good taste...

I don' t know what is good taste. Can we judge what is good or bad taste ? I don't know. I have my own taste, this is the only thing I know. I know that we had with the main two salons a large diversity of watches. It was just a feeling that the the neo r...

I'm curious to see the definitive version... I need to see it in the flesh, because, as I said, I want to add a Tourbillon in my collection, and as a big Freak Fan and lover, if it sings to me, it won't be a problem to getm y 2d Freak. I must be freak. Be...

Enjoy.

Not good quality pics but it's all I have. I've got a crush on the Blue Phantom since the first time I saw it. Such a fascinating timepiece, in terms of movement and design. Very COOL!!!! Blue Phantom: The Big Brother: Vte...

You know me, I don't even look at the big brands...

but to tell you the truth, even the "Dream Factory" watches seemed to lack the inspiring idea this year. You may not want to believe me, but my 2 favorate new watches at BaselWorld this year are the Nienaber Anterograd and the Habring2 Foudroyante Jumping...

oooh i like the Neinaber Don.

i like both of them in fact. they both appeal to my sense of the unusual. the Habring is already on my ever growing list so now i have one more to add. best Graham

If these 2 examples make you sad, I would be sobbing for the whole watch industry

Actually, I am still quite happy. Regards Ling

The Swiss industry is reeling from the economy

Part of the problem is how long it takes them to get a product on the market. These were all watches designed a few years back, if not more.

We might be spoiled from the past few years

I agree this year's slowed down a little bit in terms of radical innovations... But is that because we've had the best the past few years and we're so accustomed to that pace of change? This year isn't TOO bad.. perhaps they're just taking a little bit of...

I see a huge and a greater variety of watches every single year

In the last few years one of the ‘trend’ is for some brands to revive some ‘forgotten’ models (often models which weren’t then successful or produced in a too small quantity), but still they represent a so small percentage co...

I don't like the dial.Messy and not pleasing to my IMHO.Have a look at the Omega museum edition NO.8 chronograph. IMHO, a great looking dial.

whilst it is true that there have been lotsa of remakes of past models, there have also been some really interest models. i am particularly impressed with Panerai's offering at SIHH. a good mixture of remakes...the Mare nostrum and new ones like the EOT. ...

Personally....
