that's a nice way of putting it! Anyhow, according to your definition, I am an ultra-traditionalist. My formal watches are always made of noble metal and the watch is having just two hands (who needs the seconds when in an important business meeting, a go... 

The Cartier Santos Skeleton would mostly fit your criteria, save for the diamonds. The Patek ref. 96 Calatrava I showed in the main post is a 1920s watch, one that most people would consider an ultra-traditionalist and conservative watch. So it would fit ... 

"my list". Patek also have some watches meeting my criterias like 5138, 5120, 5180/1... AP also produce some lovely slims, at least one Breguet, Chopard, JLC, Piaget, VC... Having criterias of an "ultra-traditionalist" does not make it easy nor cheap to p...

I see no reason why gemstones are considered feminine. I'd love a watch set with stones as long as it wasn't a Rolex. They add that extra bit of expression that so many men want, but are afraid to ask for.

...I rarely find this "elegant". Since I think that a formal men's timepiece should be first of all "elegant" - beyond the fact of housing or not complications - usually I haven't any desire of wearing a diamond set watch, with the exception of some Piage... 

If i did it would have to be very understated, like the Patek with the diamond indices only. The Cartier Santos is a striking watch, but not for me. Stewart.

but just my tongue in cheek way of mocking the non-WIS whose idea of good value is the paved diamonds on a watch rather than a superfluous complication like a tourbillon. There are always exceptions and as I said there are those who wear it well and there...

Men can wear diamonds. Every man has his own taste in watches and I respectively disagree with the list above. Diamonds don't make a watch or its wearer less masculine. It's a matter of taste.

Dear Jiaxian, I occasionally wear a diamond monaco to bling things up. Here's some diamonds I've been given by a close friend a long time ago. They are not set into jewelery yet, but soon will be for my cufflinks. You'd be surprised pawnshops do not know ...

Smaller watches with diamonds, e.g. the Longines you show or Patek ref. 96, are extremely subtle, even if they have diamond markers. Very beautiful Longines by the way. - SJX
