Men can wear diamonds. Every man has his own taste in watches and I respectively disagree with the list above. Diamonds don't make a watch or its wearer less masculine. It's a matter of taste.

Can men wear diamonds?

 By: SJX : March 5th, 2011-00:18
One of the most striking watches Cartier unveiled at SIHH 2011 is the Santos Dumont Skeleton in white gold set with baguette diamonds. The movement has ruthenium finished bridges, as found on the Santos Dumont Skeleton in ADLC titanium. This would make a ...

Sure why not

Not my cup of tea, but I see no reason my not. I have oftern seen guys wear Rolex's that have diamonds on the index's of their dials. Guys also sometimes wear diamond pinky rings. Again not anything that I would favor. The diamonds are for my wife. Best r...

I think youre right

But I personally dont like diamonds on men's watches. But I do prefer the designs that you talked about over those bedazeled 50mm watches you normally see in music videos. regards Marwan

I thought most purists would be stumped. I thought it would be a very appropriate reference given the subject matter of thhe Bond flick. Have you watched the movie? You know the name of the character she played? Don't get confused, there two of them.... B...

and the only thing I remember well is the title song with the echoing "forever, forever, forever" lyrics. There was something about a reclusive, but actually kidnapped, casino owner living in a penthouse. - SJX

that could be ANY Bond plot!!

Ultra-traditionalist...

 By: dr.kol : March 5th, 2011-16:35
that's a nice way of putting it! Anyhow, according to your definition, I am an ultra-traditionalist. My formal watches are always made of noble metal and the watch is having just two hands (who needs the seconds when in an important business meeting, a go...

Ultra-traditionalist watch

 By: SJX : March 6th, 2011-00:58
The Cartier Santos Skeleton would mostly fit your criteria, save for the diamonds. The Patek ref. 96 Calatrava I showed in the main post is a 1920s watch, one that most people would consider an ultra-traditionalist and conservative watch. So it would fit ...

"my list". Patek also have some watches meeting my criterias like 5138, 5120, 5180/1... AP also produce some lovely slims, at least one Breguet, Chopard, JLC, Piaget, VC... Having criterias of an "ultra-traditionalist" does not make it easy nor cheap to p...

Men should wear diamonds

 By: andren : March 5th, 2011-22:47
I see no reason why gemstones are considered feminine. I'd love a watch set with stones as long as it wasn't a Rolex. They add that extra bit of expression that so many men want, but are afraid to ask for.

I would.

Not with every diamond watch, and not as an everyday watch, but there are some that are very interesting and are not on the bling-bling side. Vte

Men can wear diamonds, of course, but...

 By: heartbreaker : March 6th, 2011-11:44
...I rarely find this "elegant". Since I think that a formal men's timepiece should be first of all "elegant" - beyond the fact of housing or not complications - usually I haven't any desire of wearing a diamond set watch, with the exception of some Piage...

I don't think I will ever wear a watch set with diamonds

 By: docsnov : March 6th, 2011-13:43
If i did it would have to be very understated, like the Patek with the diamond indices only. The Cartier Santos is a striking watch, but not for me. Stewart.

Why do diamond set watches have a bad rep?

 By: SJX : March 6th, 2011-23:57
Judging from your list, diamond-set watches have a negative connotation; they implying trying to show off. But an enormous, all black Hublot or AP Offshore chronograph in ceramic, carbon fibre and titanium, is equally hard to miss. In fact, amongst a part...

I'd like diamond cufflinks

Dear Jiaxian, I occasionally wear a diamond monaco to bling things up. Here's some diamonds I've been given by a close friend a long time ago. They are not set into jewelery yet, but soon will be for my cufflinks. You'd be surprised pawnshops do not know ...

You were given a sack full of diamonds..!!

 By: Andy : March 13th, 2011-07:08
That's great - I'd love a pile like that to play poker with instead of chips with friends. Are they cheap to buy from dealers like that..? Yours, Andy.

Try the local pawnshop

 By: Cookies : March 13th, 2011-20:38
They might have nothing to do with these stones after they salvage the precious metal from pawned jewelery. It'll be fun to bet on these instead of chips or cash.

Smaller watches with diamonds, e.g. the Longines you show or Patek ref. 96, are extremely subtle, even if they have diamond markers. Very beautiful Longines by the way. - SJX
